4-Day Magical Route in Chongqing

Chongqing, this 8D magical mountain city, is really perfect for city walking 🥹 The four days and three nights itinerary includes many off-the-beaten-path spots, allowing you to experience the local life without getting too tired~

🚶♀️4 Days 3 Nights Route Guide
Day 1: Jiefangbei → Bayi Road Food Street → Yangtze River Cableway → Hongya Cave
- Bayi Road Food Street is open late, you can avoid peak hours to try Jianglong Claws and Hot and Sour Noodles
- It’s recommended to buy a round-trip ticket for the Yangtze River Cableway; sunset is the best time for photos
- Hongya Cave lights up from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Qiansimen Bridge is the best photo spot

Day 2: Liziba Monorail Through Building → E’ling No.2 Factory → Chongqing People’s Auditorium → Shancheng Trail
- E’ling No.2 Factory Cultural and Creative Park hides many treasure shops, and the rooftop view is amazing
- The Shancheng Trail is very pleasant in the evening, and you might meet the old grandpa selling cold shrimp with a shoulder pole

Day 3: Ciqikou Ancient Town → Baigongguan → Chaotianmen Square
- Make sure to recognize the original Chen Mahua store in Ciqikou; freshly made ones taste the best
- Baigongguan closes admission at 4:00 PM, so remember to go early

Day 4: Nanshan Yikeshu → Huangjueping Graffiti Street → Return
- You can still see new works by Sichuan Fine Arts Institute students on Graffiti Street, perfect for street-style photos

🍜 Must-Try Food Spots
✔ For Jianghu cuisine, try Nanshan Spring Water Chicken (Chongwen Road, Nan’an District)
✔ For noodles, go to the street stalls under residential buildings; recommended is Tikan Noodles (Renmin Road, Yuzhong District)
✔ For hotpot, choose the Air Raid Shelter Old Hotpot or Dongting Hotpot (Shangqingsi, Yuzhong District) for a very unique experience

🏨 Accommodation Tips
It’s recommended to stay in the Jiefangbei business district. We stayed at Atour Light Residence, which is very cost-effective and within walking distance to Hongya Cave. If your budget allows, you can choose The Westin, whose 53rd-floor sky lobby view is stunning!

⚠️ Practical Tips:
1️⃣ Be sure to bring comfortable flat shoes! Chongqing’s steps will punish anyone who insists otherwise
2️⃣ Map apps often malfunction in Chongqing, so ask locals frequently
3️⃣ Bring a fill light for night scenes; Hongya Cave is very crowded for photos, so remember to secure your spot early
