Ciqikou Ancient Town is one of Chongqing's famous historical and cultural attractions, boasting over a thousand years of history. Founded in the Song Dynasty, Ciqikou was originally named "Bai Yachang." During the Ming and Qing dynasties, due to the flourishing porcelain manufacturing industry, it earned the name "Ciqikou." Known as "Little Chongqing," it retains many architectural styles from the Ming and Qing dynasties, offering an important window into Chongqing's traditional culture.
The ancient streets and alleyways still retain the cobblestone pavements, wooden dwellings, and stilt houses, all typical of Chongqing. There are also many traditional Chongqing teahouses. After a leisurely stroll, enjoy a cup of tea and slowly appreciate this important port, once a distribution center for goods from the lower reaches of the Jialing River during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It now boasts a vibrant cultural atmosphere.
