Auntie, here’s a three-person serving of dakgalbi!
Chuncheon Myeongdong. It’s been a while since I visited. Actually, while living in Chuncheon, I rarely go to Myeongdong except when I go shopping or eat something specific. Since my friend came to Chuncheon after a long time, I brought him to Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley as a tourist attraction.
Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley is a street where dozens of dakgalbi restaurants gather in two or three alleys. It’s easy to think of it as Daegu Gopchang Alley, Busan Gukbap Alley, Euljiro Pajeon Alley, Jangchung-dong Jokbal Alley, and Shindangdong Tteokbokki Alley. The taste of each dakgalbi restaurant in Myeongdong Dakgalbi Street is so different that each restaurant has a unique dakgalbi seasoning. Some restaurants have spicy and salty food, while others have soft and savory food. Some restaurants have dakgalbi with a hint of curry.

I asked for advice from a Chuncheon citizen (Chuncheon citizens also have different preferences for dakgalbi restaurants) and visited Myeongdong 1st Dakgalbi.
The interior is quite large. As expected, it is a representative tourist attraction in Chuncheon, so it is very spacious. They seem to also do takeout and delivery. Since it is a hot day, there are 6 air conditioners running. There are also a lot of employees. I can't imagine how many employees there would have been before COVID-19.
I went at 3 o'clock when there were not many people, but as expected, there were hardly any people. The advantage of Myeongdong Dakgalbi Alley is that there is no lunch break. Most of them seem to be open from 10 o'clock to 9 o'clock and then close.
Anyway, I ordered 3 servings and added the essential udon noodles. After 20 minutes of waiting for it to cook, it was done.
The taste of the dakgalbi is the best as always. The dakgalbi in Chuncheon is usually delicious. I don't know why. Is it the taste of the mainland?
The reason why it's good to eat dakgalbi in Myeongdong is because there are many things to see around. Various commercial districts are concentrated in the center of Myeongdong, and it is convenient to work because it is close to government offices such as city hall, provincial office, bank, district office, and post office. It is also adjacent to the central market, department store, and movie theater. There is also a neighborhood called Yukrim Pass, which is like an old downtown area, and it has recently become famous for its emotional cafes and atmosphere. It is also about a 5-minute walk from there.

The best parking space
They say Myeongdong is so complicated that there is no parking space, but that's a mistake. There is a large underground shopping mall in Myeongdong, and there is an underground parking lot next to it. If you do business in Myeongdong, you will be provided with a 1-hour free parking ticket, but the parking fee increases by 300 won every 10 minutes. Since Dakgalbi is not something you can eat for more than an hour, the additional fee at that time was around 300 won.
The head of the household went to Myeongdong 1st Dakgalbi, but other restaurants also have unique and delicious Dakgalbi, so you can look around and choose a restaurant that suits your taste. As a reference, the taste of Myeongdong 1st Dakgalbi was,,, 'a taste that seems slightly spicy, but when the saltiness rises, the unique oil of the chicken completely fills it up.' It was very delicious.
