Baiyun Creek, located in the western part of Huangshan, originates in a deep valley beneath Paiyun Pavilion in Xihai. It is fed by water from the Xihai Peaks and the Shizhu, Aoyu, Yunji, and Jiulong Peaks. It stretches approximately 13 kilometers. At Diaoqiao Temple, it merges with Yunmen Creek and flows westward. Its water flow is plentiful and inexhaustible year-round.
The stream is a dazzling array of deep pools. The largest, Shuanglong Pond, covers 400 square meters and is over five meters deep. The narrow and deep Shayu Pond, less than one meter wide but over 20 meters long, is bottomless. Along the way, there are more than ten waterfalls, each with its own unique shape and unique beauty.
Strange peaks line the banks, and grotesque rocks jut out from the landscape. The scenery interplays beautifully, creating a picturesque scene. Baiyun Creek flows eastward beneath Yunji Peak, merging with Taohua Creek.
The subtropical monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
The scenery is truly spectacular, encompassing Shizhu Peak, Shichuang Peak, Bodao Peak and Feilai Rock to the right and front, Paiyun Pavilion, Danxia Peak, Songlin Peak across from them, and Jiulong Peak and Yunwai Peak to the left and front. The narrow Jiaolong Beach lies at the entrance to the canyon, with steep cliffs on both sides, highlighting its mysterious and treacherous nature. These are all treasures bestowed upon us by nature.
