Chuncheon Sentimental Journey: Retro Vibes and Serene Lake Views

1️⃣ 10:30 AM – Arrival at Chuncheon Station & Cafe Daewondang

As soon as I arrived at Chuncheon Station, I walked about 10 minutes to reach Cafe Daewondang. The cafe is housed in a former pharmacy building, giving it a nostalgic 'time-honored' feel from the exterior. Inside, you'll find typewriters, radios, and furniture reminiscent of the 60s and 70s.

☕ Recommended Menu: Homemade Omija (Schisandra) Ade / Matcha Latte
Highly recommended for those who need a quiet atmosphere for writing or some alone time! Sitting by the sunny window with soothing classical music playing makes time fly by.

2️⃣ 12:00 PM – Lunch at Chuncheon Dakgalbi Alley

You can't visit Chuncheon without trying dakgalbi! A 15-minute walk from Daewondang takes you to Dakgalbi Alley, where I enjoyed a simple lunch of charcoal-grilled dakgalbi.

The smoky flavor of the dakgalbi paired with a bite of makguksu (buckwheat noodles) was a perfect combination. Many places now offer single servings, making it convenient for solo travelers to enjoy.

3️⃣ 1:30 PM – Strolling & Cycling at Nami Island

After a hearty meal, I headed to Nami Island, a must-visit in Chuncheon! I took a bus or taxi to the ferry terminal and boarded the boat to the island. The lush greenery and abundant phytoncides on the island were refreshing.

I rented an electric bike and took a breezy ride around the island. Cycling along the riverside with the wind in my hair was truly unforgettable.

📸 Photo Spots: Metasequoia Lane, Lovers' Bench, and the front of Bookmaru Library
The island also features charming sculptures and a cozy book cafe.

4️⃣ 4:30 PM – Coffee Break at Sand Coffee

After leaving Nami Island, I headed to Sand Coffee, a sentimental cafe where you can relax while gazing at the Bukhan River through large windows.

True to its name, Sand Coffee offers a unique experience of brewing coffee on sand. You can place a kettle on the sand and slowly extract your coffee, adding a fun twist to your visit.

🍰 Recommended: Sand Brew Coffee + Fig Pound Cake
(Perfect in both taste and presentation!)

5️⃣ 6:00 PM – Return to Chuncheon Station

As the sun began to set, I returned to Chuncheon Station. On the train ride back, I sorted through the day's photos, feeling like the short trip left a lasting impression on my heart.
