Chuxiong Xinglong Temple

Legend has it that during the opening ceremony, Master Gao Shuo thought that the place name "Dingji Temple" was not very good. Master Fade had been in contact with the emperor for many years. The emperor once became a monk at "Huangjue Temple" in Anhui.
It was suggested that Master Fade go to the court to meet the emperor and ask for the name of the temple. So Master Fade went to seek an audience with the emperor. Taizu of the Ming Dynasty remembered his interaction with Master Fade at Huangjue Temple and treated Master Fade preferentially. He gave the temple the name "Xinglong Zen Temple", which means prosperity, and also gave him one thousand two hundred taels of gold. , sixteen pieces of silk and satin, a pair of jade vases, and Fade was named the founder. The time is 1384. After Master Fade returned to Yunnan, he chose an auspicious day on the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month in the year of Yichou (1385) to hang the plaque "Xinglong Zen Temple" awarded by the emperor on the gate of the newly built temple.

During the "Cultural Revolution", Xinglong Temple was used to run a school. It was restored to use as a temple in 1987 and has now been basically restored to its original appearance. It covers an area of ​​more than fifty acres and has more than 30 monks. The main buildings of Xinglong Temple now include Zhaobi, Shanmen, Maitreya Hall, Guanyin Hall, Three Holy Temples, Main Hall, Patriarch Hall, etc. The layout is reasonable and the structure is complete. There are 13 inscriptions and 20 pagodas in the temple. Important cultural relics include the Jade Buddha, ancient bells, stone tablets, etc.
