You have to visit the Jiabang Terraces at least once—I want to take you to see the clear blue skies!

The rice fields in Jiabang are all carved along the mountains, changing with the terrain and adapting to local conditions. The altitude of the hillside, the slope’s gentleness, and the size of the hillside determine the size and shape of the terraces. The terraces have over 400 steps, with an altitude difference of up to a thousand meters. The unique topography determines the terrace area; here, the longest terraces can reach two to three hundred meters, while the shortest are less than one meter. Each part of a terrace hill that stretches hundreds of meters varies completely in size and shape. Jiabang Terraces are grand in scale and magnificent, layered in an orderly fashion with beautiful lines. Whether looking at the lines or the overall shape, Jiabang Terraces embody the essence of terraces worldwide. They are more elegant than the Yuanyang Terraces in Yunnan and more spectacular than the Longsheng Terraces in Guangxi, making them extremely charming. The layered terraces spread across the foothills of Moon Mountain, highlighting two or three small villages scattered among them, creating a picturesque mountain countryside scene. This also reflects the harmonious beauty of humans blending with nature, giving a feeling of a "paradise on earth, a utopia." Below is a brief guide to Jiabang Terraces:

- Best viewing periods: April to May during the rice field irrigation period, and July to November during the harvest season.
- Best photo spots: Dangniu, Jiaye, and Jiacher (ju) viewing platforms.
- Accommodation recommendations:
- Yunhuan Secret Realm: A guesthouse where you can see the terraces right from your window with stunning views, but the road to the guesthouse is difficult and requires walking.
- Yunshang Terraces: About 1.5 kilometers from the tourist service center, convenient for staying, but there are almost no large-scale terraces around the guesthouse, and it is still some distance from the central viewing platform.
- Food recommendations: Roasted fragrant pork, rice flower fish, colorful glutinous rice, and more.
- Scenic area ticket prices:
- From April 18 to December 31, 2023, the entrance ticket is 50 RMB per person.
- Sightseeing bus is 40 RMB per person (recommended).
- Transportation guide:
- Self-driving: Navigate to "Congjiang Jiabang Tourist Service Center."
- High-speed rail: Take the high-speed train to Congjiang Station, then transfer to the "Congjiang–Jiabang" shuttle bus after exiting the station.

Additionally, Jiabang Terraces are not a single terrace but a collective name for all terraces in Jiabang Township. Dangjiling Terraces are the most spectacular, Yangsongling Terraces have the most imposing lines, and Wanxi Terraces have the strongest misty atmosphere. When visiting, you can use Dangniu Village and Jiacher Village as central points for your tour.
