I arrived in Vietnam for the first time on February 19th, just a couple of days after Tet—the Vietnamese New Year. Although the festivities had officially ended, the city was still adorned with lanterns, fresh flowers, and tropical magic at every turn. The beauty struck deep into my soul.
✨ A Celebration That Never Ends
Coming from Bali—where streets are also decorated during festivals—but here it felt different. In Vietnam, everything looked like they simply didn’t want to let go of the celebration. Lanterns everywhere. Flowers in every corner. A light scent of incense wafting through the air. It wasn’t just for tourists—it’s their way of life. Even several days after Tet, you feel as if you've stepped into a fairy tale.

🏨 Where to Stay? City Center Is Perfect
I chose to stay right in the heart of the city—and that turned out to be an excellent decision. Convenient. Vibrant. Beautiful. I went for a walk later in the afternoon and immediately realized:
> In Vietnam, even ordinary streets can become part of your story.
Simply strolling along the decorated streets, listening to market sounds, watching people chatting over coffee on street corners—that's not just relaxation. It's immersion into another culture.

🎑 Unexpected Find: Café Under Hanging Lanterns
One discovery particularly touched me—a cozy café beneath dangling lanterns. People sat there sipping tea, talking, laughing. No rush. Just tranquility, soft lights, music floating in the air. And then I understood:
> You don’t need to be at a festival to feel its energy.
> Sometimes it lingers—in architecture, in people, in their gazes and smiles.

💡 Why This Experience Stuck With Me:
- Festive mood lingered long after Tet
- Streets were decked with lanterns, flowers, art installations
- Easily getting lost in this city—and never wanting to find your way back
- Culture here isn’t superficial but genuine. It lives each day.
- Here you feel free, open, inspired

📷 What to Capture On Camera:
- Street lanterns
- Fresh flower decorations
- Outdoor café tables
- Locals in festive spirits
- Architecture where modernity meets tradition
🌿 Final Thought:
First time in Vietnam is like taking your first breath of something new. Something that feels both close yet distant. Here I learned:
> Beauty begins not with extravagant decorations, but how people carry the spirit of celebration within themselves.
