Lamma Island is the third largest island in Hong Kong, known for its tranquil environment and car-free roads, making it a popular weekend getaway spot. The island features a well-developed trail system; walking from Yung Shue Wan to Sok Kwu Wan takes about 1.5 hours, passing along the coast, hillsides, and villages, perfect for light hiking. Along the way, you can visit beaches and end the day watching the sunset by the sea, ideal for planning a half-day or full-day trip.

🚢 Take the ferry from Central Pier No. 4 to Yung Shue Wan, with a journey time of about 30–40 minutes.
🚢 You can also take a boat from Aberdeen Pier to Sok Kwu Wan, suitable for planning a hike in the opposite direction.

🗺️Recommended Route and Useful Information

Hiking Route: It is recommended to start from Yung Shue Wan and walk along the Family Trail to Sok Kwu Wan. The route is gentle in slope with clear signs, taking about 1.5 hours in total.

Hung Shing Yeh Beach: You can visit this beach midway along the trail. The beach is clean, moderately crowded, and equipped with changing rooms and shower facilities.

Viewpoints and Sunset: Near Sok Kwu Wan, there are several open viewpoints overlooking the southern coast. The soft light at dusk makes it a great spot for enjoying the sunset and taking photos.

Dining and Transportation: Sok Kwu Wan has Rainbow Seafood Restaurant and other snacks. After dining, you can take their free shuttle boat back to Central or Tsim Sha Tsui.
