Issun Boshi is a Japanese restaurant with a striking, simple and elegant atmosphere. As soon as we sat down, a small plate of braised radish was served first, gently kicking off the meal. The salty yet subtly sweet radish was enough to whet our appetite, and the owner's meticulous attention to detail was evident.

We ordered vegetable tempura udon and tempura jiru soba. The udon had a rich, deep broth, and the crispiness of the tempura and the sweetness of the vegetables combined to create a warm and comforting flavor. The tempura jiru soba was a wonderful combination of tempura and soba, dipped in a refreshing broth. The noodles were springy and had a nice texture, and the soup, while not salty, was savory and refreshing, leaving a clean finish to the last sip.

Overall, Issun Boshi, while not flashy, epitomized the charm of honest, meticulous Japanese home cooking. This is a restaurant where you can feel the warmth of more than just one meal, as each dish is made with care.
