Dali day out? Here’s how I breezed through Shuanglang and its stunning ancient fishing village – two words: lakeside serenity! 🚴♂️
Must-See Spot: Shuanglang Ancient Fishing Village
Address: 大理白族自治州大理市云南大理洱海东岸, 距下关35公里
This little gem sits on the east bank of Erhai Lake. Rent a bike in Dali city and follow the lakeside path – you’ll roll right into Shuanglang and get totally lost in chill village vibes, old Bai houses, and the lake’s unreal blue reflections. Pro tip: go early for cool air and fewer crowds!
Don’t skip:
- Quick pit stops in tiny fishing villages along the way – super friendly locals, some great lakeside photo ops, and fresh Erhai fish at small eateries.
- Wandering side alleys for gorgeous murals and hidden coffee corners.
- A sunset lakeside stroll – the whole lake glows gold.
Getting Around:
Biking is the vibe here. Rentals are easy to find in Dali old town (Y25-40 a day) – grab a good map or ask for the route to Shuanglang (about 30km, mostly flat but bring water and sunscreen). Shared minivans make for an easy ride back after all that pedaling.
Food Fix:
Try the grilled Erhai fish (simple lakeside spots in Shuanglang do it best) and sweet Bai-style rice cakes from roadside stalls.
Quick tips:
- Always carry cash; small villages don’t always do mobile pay.
- Mornings and dusk are coolest for riding.
- Pack a light jacket – the lake breeze can surprise you.
