Jingshan Forest Park in Yiyang County is located in the west of Yiyang County. It is a new urban park built by the Yiyang County Party Committee and Government in recent years to facilitate the people's life, leisure and entertainment. It is also a park that integrates tourism, leisure and entertainment, and fitness and cultivation.
Jingshan Forest Park boasts unique natural scenery and rich cultural and historical heritage. Planned and designed by the Luoyang Forestry Bureau and the Yichuan County Forestry Department, the park covers a total area of 5,000 mu (approximately 1,000 acres) and encompasses four administrative villages in Chengguan Town: Nanfudian, Beifudian, Xichang, and Yaowan.
Jingshan Forest Park, through scientific planning and tailored to the mountain's terrain, is divided into four zones: the Famous Chinese Neo-Confucian Culture Zone, the Century Altar Ecological Leisure and Entertainment Zone, the Phoenix Ridge Ecological Leisure Zone, and the Botanical Gardens and Ornamental Gardens. Each zone has its own distinct characteristics, yet they are integrated into a harmonious whole, complementing and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The warm temperate continental monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
This famous area of Chinese Neo-Confucianism culture covers a total area of 150 mu. With the "Cheng Garden" as the main site, the tombs of Cheng Hao and Cheng Yi, the founders of Neo-Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty, more than 30 thousand-year-old cypresses are flourishing, more than 500 hundred-year-old cypresses are stubborn and majestic, the magnificent mountain gate and the ancient tombs and shrines highlight the profoundness of Neo-Confucianism.
The Century Monument Leisure and Entertainment Area, covering over 600 mu (approximately 1,000 acres), is centered around the Century Monument, atop Jingshan Peak. The area features meticulously designed green corridors, pavilions, and curbs, planted with verdant pines and cypresses, and exotic flowers. The result is a poetic and picturesque landscape of evergreen greenery, vibrant blossoms year-round, and a truly relaxing and captivating atmosphere.
The Botanical Garden Scenic Area, located north of Wolonggou and south of Yichang Road, covers a total area of 760 mu. Fifty-six tree species have been selected for the scenic area, highlighting the seasonal characteristics of "spring vitality, summer passion, autumn maturity, and winter resilience." The ingenious combination of tree species creates four scenic areas: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In the gentle spring breeze, peach, plum, lilac, winter jasmine, redbud, and golden willows compete for beauty; in the nourishing summer rains, torch trees, pomegranates, heather, pale bamboo, and albizzia trees nestle in harmony; in the bright autumn sun, ginkgo trees, red maples, osmanthus trees, and sycamore trees flourish in vibrant colors; in the falling winter snow, pines, cypresses, privets, and wintersweets each showcase their unique charm. The evergreen year-round and the fragrance of flowers throughout the seasons invite visitors to linger and captivate.
Located in Fenghuangling, Jingshan, the Fenghuangling Ecological Recreation Area covers a total area of 600 mu. Primarily featuring delicate cherries and fragrant osmanthus flowers, the area has created a Cherry Valley and Osmanthus Garden.
