Taichung's Hidden Culinary Gem: Yi Yuan Tang

This time, I visited a nearby clinic for a check-up, and the medical staff highly recommended this restaurant—Yi Yuan Tang, a place full of surprises. Despite not having a visible signboard, the restaurant offers a comfortable and elegant environment with a quiet ambiance, making it perfect for gatherings with friends or family.

Though understated in appearance, the restaurant's dedication to its dishes is evident, providing a sense of reassurance while dining. I ordered the daily special: Steamed Cod. The fish was fresh and tender, cooked to perfection, allowing the natural sweetness of the cod to shine through. The seasoning was light and refreshing, ideal for those who prefer healthy eating.

One dish I must recommend is their signature Taro Vermicelli Soup! As soon as the soup is served, the rich aroma of taro fills the air. The taro is soft and flavorful, while the vermicelli absorbs the essence of the broth, creating a layered texture that makes you want to order another bowl.

To end the meal, I had a warm cup of Longan and Red Date Tea. Its gentle sweetness not only warms the stomach but also provides a comforting finish to the meal.

Overall, Yi Yuan Tang left me with the impression of being "low-key yet meticulous." The dishes are healthy, delicious, and refined, making it an excellent choice for travelers who enjoy traditional Chinese home-style flavors. I will definitely revisit the next time I'm in Taichung!
