Brooklyn and Queens are two of NYC’s liveliest borough where skyline views, local bites, and vibrant culture await. Each neighborhood serves up its own flavor, making this itinerary perfect for city explorers who want a taste of real New York. Here are my recommendations for first-timers:
1️⃣
Start your day in Brooklyn’s DUMBO area, where cobblestone streets meet jaw-dropping riverfront vistas. Head to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to stroll along the waterfront and snap those epic bridge-and-Manhattan shots. While you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to wander the charming streets of the historic Brooklyn Heights.
2️⃣
Next, wander through Williamsburg. Check out the hip boutiques and stop by Artist & Fleas for local finds. From East River State Park, the city skyline glows best at sunset—bring your camera! Another great spot for city photographers is the Mona Lisa de Williamsburg. Here you can capture a photo of the artwork with the Williamsburg bridge in the background.
3️⃣
Shift to Queens in the afternoon. Explore Long Island City with its riverside Gantry Plaza State Park and its epic midtown views. You can also snap pics by the iconic Pepsi-Cola sign. If you’re hungry, try some authentic international eats in Astoria—Greek and Middle Eastern spots are top picks!
🏨 Where to Stay:
The Boro Hotel is conveniently located in Queens and it features comfortable rooms with pleasant views. Several transport options are close by and there are many dining options.
🥪 Where to Eat:
🍕 Juliana’s Pizza
☕️ Devoción
🍝 The 3 Luigis
🍔 Jackson Hole
🥪 The Original John’s Deli
🍩 Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop
