In the coastal city of Dalian, Dalian Children's Park holds cherished childhood memories for countless people, making it a true gem for family outings. Here's a detailed guide to help you explore its unique charm.
I. Park Overview
Located on Nanshan Road in Zhongshan District (near Guilin Street), Dalian Children's Park covers an area of 6.1 hectares and is open to the public free of charge. Its history dates back to 1909 when it began as the "Jinggechi" flood detention reservoir. In 1936, it was transformed into a park named "Jinggechi Children's Park." In 1972, it was officially renamed "Children's Park," a name it retains to this day.
II. Featured Attractions
Mingze Lake
The lake spans over 30,000 square meters, its surface shimmering with light. The granite embankments add to its beauty. From the shore or the pier, you can clearly see red carp swimming freely. The lakeside plastic track is an excellent spot for jogging or strolling, while the quaint pavilion in the center of the lake often echoes with the melodious voices of singers practicing their vocals.
Green Lawns
The vast green lawns are a natural playground for children. Here, they can run, play, fly kites, and enjoy carefree childhood moments.
III. Planning Your Visit
Time Allocation
We recommend spending 1–2 hours at the park. The morning air is fresh, ideal for morning exercises and leisurely walks. In the evening, the sunset over the lake creates a captivating scene, and you can also avoid the daytime heat.
Suggested Route
After entering the park, follow a counterclockwise route around Mingze Lake. Start by admiring the scenery, cross the pier for a closer look at the fish, then head to the green lawns for the children to play. Finally, relax on the benches by the lake and enjoy the tranquility.
IV. Transportation
Public Transportation
Take bus route 11 and get off at Guilin Street Station, or take bus routes 24, 529, 708, etc., and get off at Children's Park Station.
Driving Information
Parking spaces at the park entrance are limited. Paid parking is available nearby, but spaces are limited on weekends and holidays, so plan your parking in advance.
V. Friendly Reminders
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the park. Please keep the environment clean and do not litter. When visiting with children, especially near the lake and play areas, pay close attention to their safety. If you have a picnic on the lawn, remember to take your trash with you to maintain the cleanliness of the lawn.
Dalian Children's Park is undoubtedly a paradise for children and a great place for adults to relax and connect with nature. Bring your family and embark on a heartwarming and joyful family trip!
