Golden Shores and Sculpted Cliffs: A Day in Dalian’s Jinshitan

Jinshitan, also known as Golden Pebble Beach, is one of Dalian’s most stunning coastal attractions. With its golden sand, dramatic rock formations, and fun seaside activities, it’s the perfect getaway for both relaxation and exploration.

I arrived in the morning, just as the sunlight spilled across the beach. The sand was soft and warm beneath my feet, and the waves gently kissed the shore. Walking along the coastline, I soon reached the Geological Park, where nature has carved the rocks into fascinating shapes—some like turtles, others like animals frozen in stone. It felt like a natural art gallery sculpted by the sea over millions of years.

Next, I visited the Gold Coast area, where modern resorts, golf courses, and theme parks sit beside the wild beauty of the ocean. Families played by the water, couples rode bikes along the sea-view road, and the breeze carried the salty scent of the sea.

For lunch, I tried some local seafood—grilled squid, steamed clams, and a bowl of fresh seaweed soup—all enjoyed at a small restaurant with a view of the waves.

In the afternoon, I took a ride on the coastal sightseeing train, which runs along the cliffs and offers sweeping views of the sea and sky. As the sun began to set, the whole coast glowed golden—true to its name, Golden Pebble Beach.

Jinshitan is more than just a beach—it’s a place where nature, fun, and relaxation come together. Whether you’re looking to explore or unwind, it’s a perfect seaside escape in Dalian.
