Escape the Heat and Hunt for Fossils Around Chengdu | Perfect Vacation Vibes

The temperature in Chengdu has been soaring lately 🔝
Once again, we took the kids to Huashuiwan in Dayi to escape the heat and play in the water 💦
The water here is incredibly clear, and you can still spot tiny tadpoles this season～
The mountain air is refreshing and comfortable, making it a joy to breathe deeply 🍃
We even found some fossils—there are plenty here if you look closely, and some have beautiful patterns

This time, we stayed at the Howard Johnson Huashuiwan Resort, surrounded by lush greenery. The expansive lawn and meticulous garden design are truly a feast for the eyes, with all kinds of flowers in full bloom.
The mountains are especially cool in the morning and evening, making the hot spring area perfect for kids to splash around in—the water is warm but not too hot. When the temperature rises, there’s also a large swimming pool for a refreshing dip 🏊, so relaxing!
In the evening, we enjoyed a spicy Sichuan-style hot pot 🌶️ with fresh, authentic flavors, all while soaking in the riverside breeze—pure bliss! If you can’t handle spice, there’s also a mild broth option.
After dinner, we took the kids to feed the koi fish. The fish were lively, and with the surrounding scenery, it felt like stepping into a painting.
Breakfast was amazing too! Even for a family trip, there’s something for everyone. I especially loved the braised chicken with mushroom noodles—so delicious 🤭
