My parents couldn't stop praising it! Our whole family escaped the heat at this courtyard-style hotel

I'd always heard Huashui Bay was perfect for summer getaways near Chengdu, and now that we're staying at Howard Johnson Huashui Bay Resort, I finally understand why! 🏨

My parents specifically came for the therapeutic sulfur hot springs 😝 - so soothing for joint pain! The Chinese restaurant caters to all ages, and our family suite was spacious enough to keep everyone happy. This is truly the ideal summer family vacation! 🌳

Bonus: The nearby ancient town (Xieyuan Ancient Town) has reasonable prices and makes for great photos - one of the few low-commercialized ancient towns I've encountered!

We also hiked the free Xiling Snow Mountain trails - lush greenery everywhere with cooling waterfalls and streams, plus incredible fresh air! Note: Xiling rafting requires advance tickets, and scenic area lockers charge fees (bring change for storing belongings).
