Fukuoka September Exclusive | Dazaifu Millennium Festival Free for 5 Days!

In September, Dazaifu welcomes its annual Millennium Festival (Shinkoshiki Taisai).
This year, it takes place from September 21st to 25th and is completely free.
But of the five days, there are two truly unmissable events. 👇

🔥 The Two Most Worthwhile Days

September 22nd (night) – All lights are turned off, leaving only candlelight and the sound of drums lingering in the darkness, creating a captivating atmosphere.

September 25th (night) – Thousands of candles are lit along the heart-shaped pond, reflecting the light and shadows on the water, creating a dreamlike beauty.

☀️ Want to see the excitement?

September 23rd (day) – A grand parade, with children dressed in traditional costumes, creates a festive and photogenic scene.

📍 Location: Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, Fukuoka
🚆 Access: From Hakata, take the Nishitetsu Railway for approximately 40 minutes to Dazaifu Station, then a 5-minute walk.

✨ Free, great for photos, and full of atmosphere—this is a must-do experience in Fukuoka this September.
