Fukuoka, Japan - The god of learning that candidates must visit: Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine

#DazaifuTenmangu Shrine is a must-see popular attraction when visiting Fukuoka, Kyushu. The shrine enshrines the spirit of #Sugawara Michizane, the revered "god of learning, sincerity, and disaster relief". The deity enshrined is "Tenman Daijizai Tenjin". There are 12,000 shrines dedicated to Tenjin in Japan, and Dazaifu Tenmangu is the most well-known shrine.

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine has plum blossoms in early spring, rape blossoms in spring, roses and irises in early summer, and red leaves in autumn, allowing you to feel the changing of seasons. This place is also a famous plum blossom viewing spot. There are about 6,000 plum trees of about 200 varieties planted in the area, attracting many tourists to visit from February to early March every year.

#DazaifuTenmangu, #KitanoTenmangu and #HofuTenmangu are collectively known as the "Three Gods". Along the approach from Dazaifu to Tenmangu Shrine, there are many small shops selling light meals or coffee, as well as souvenir shops, creating a lively atmosphere. It is also very convenient as it is only a 5-minute walk from Nishitetsu Dazaifu Station.
