Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is a famous shrine in Fukuoka, where students often pray for academic success. The deity enshrined at Dazaifu Tenmangu is Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. There's also a statue of a cow, and it's believed that if you rub its head, you'll become wiser and receive blessings of knowledge. Upon entering the shrine grounds, you'll encounter a bridge spanning a pond called Shinjiike, which translates to "heart-shaped pond." Three bridges lead to the main shrine, each representing "past, present, and future." Crossing these bridges is like purifying your body and mind before meeting the deities.
The shrine grounds are also lined with numerous shops. A must-see highlight is the beautifully designed Starbucks and delicious strawberry daifuku. If you're visiting Fukuoka, don't forget to stop by Dazaifu-tenmangu Shrine. It's easily accessible by bus from Hakata Station. 🩵✨
