
Longtangou is located in Shuanglong Town, Xixia County, Nanyang City, in the heart of Funiu Mountains in Henan Province. It has concentrated scenic spots and dense waterfalls. The Longtangou Waterfall Group has 19 large cascade waterfalls , each with its own pool, and countless smaller ones. The dense waterfalls, secluded pools, clear water, unique rocks, lush forests, and precipitous cliffs form a complete scenic system.
The main area of the scenic area is located in a canyon, stretching 12 kilometers and boasting a natural drop of nearly a thousand meters. It features 19 large , cascading waterfalls, each with its own pool. The highest drop reaches 35 meters, and the largest pool covers over 1,000 square meters, with depths ranging from 20 to 50 meters. Numerous smaller waterfalls and pools are also found throughout. The steep cliffs and dense forests on both sides of the canyon create a spectacular scene, with mountain streams cascading down the cliffs like a torrent.
The Longtangou Scenic Area is located in the transition zone from the warm temperate zone to the subtropical zone, with an average annual temperature of 14.4 °C to 15.7 °C , a warm and comfortable environment. During the peak water seasons of summer and autumn, the waterfalls are awe-inspiring, with a dazzling display of emerald greenery. In autumn and winter, the sky is clear and fish can be seen swimming.
