Also known as Qutub Minar, it is located in Delhi, India. It is an Islamic building with Arabic inscriptions on the tower and is the tallest minaret in India.
The tower was started to be built in 1192 by Qutbuddin Aybek, the founder of the Qutb Shahi dynasty of the Delhi Sultanate, and was completed during the reign of Ildumish.
The Qutb Minar is built with red sandstone and marble. It is 72.5 meters high and has 379 steps. Its diameter gradually decreases from 14.3 meters at the bottom to 2.7 meters at the top.
It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage in 1993
