Saltwater lake on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

【Opening】: Harahu Lake belongs to the endorheic saltwater lake in the east of the Qaidam Basin, deep in the uninhabited area. It is located between Tianjun County, Qinghai Province and Delingha City. Formed by the accumulation of water in the subsidence basin, the inflow river water source comes from the melting of alpine glaciers. The main peak of the Qilian Mountains, the Unity Peak, is located to its north. The lake area is 607 square kilometers, which is a larger lake in the Qaidam Basin and the second largest lake in Qinghai Province. There are large populations of Huang fish in the lake, which is an important breeding ground for geese, sandpipers, and gulls.
