Shaolin Temple, located in the Songshan Shaolin Scenic Area in Dengfeng City, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, is an internationally renowned ancestral temple of Zen Buddhism and one of the birthplaces of Chinese martial arts. It is recommended to arrive around 7:00 am to avoid the crowds and feel the most tranquil temple atmosphere in the early morning. After entering from the mountain gate, first visit the main hall of Shaolin Temple and the pagoda forest - there are hundreds of tall stone pagodas here, recording the stories of high-ranking monks from past dynasties.
