Visit Songyang Academy to see the Tang Dynasty National Protection Stele

The "Eulogy of the Sacred Virtue and Divine Response of the Great Tang Songyang Temple" stele, a unit of the fifth batch of national protection. 👍
It is currently erected 10 meters west outside the main gate of Songyang Academy, one of the four great ancient academies of China. Carved in the third year of the Tang Tianbao era (744 AD).
Composed of five layers of carved stone: base, stele body, stele tablet, cloud disk, and stele head. It is 9.02 meters tall, 2.04 meters wide, and 1.05 meters thick.
The text was written by Li Linfu and inscribed by Xu Hao. The content records the story of Songyang Temple Taoist Sun Taichong refining the nine-turn elixir for Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, Li Longji, and is a representative work of Tang dynasty clerical script.
The proportions of the base, top cloud disk, and stele head are grand, and the stele shape has architectural significance, influencing styles up to the Qing dynasty.
