Embark on an isolated journey to Yubeng! This small village hidden deep in the Meili Snow Mountain boasts the most authentic Tibetan customs and the most breathtaking natural scenery. A three-day trekking itinerary takes you deep into this secret realm to see snow-capped mountains, soak in wild hot springs, and experience the purest Shangri-La.

🚶♂️ Three-day trekking itinerary

Day 1:
Set off early from Deqin County, charter a car to Xidang Hot Spring (220 RMB/car), the starting point of the trek. Along the way, pass through Nanzong Pass, covering about 12 kilometers, which takes 5-6 hours on foot. There are 6 supply stations en route where you can buy instant noodles and Red Bull to replenish energy. Arrive at Yubeng Upper Village by evening; it is recommended to stay in the Upper Village for easier access to the Ice Lake the next day. "Zhuanshan Guesthouse" is recommended for its good views and warmth.

Day 2:
A day hike to Ice Lake! The round trip is about 14 kilometers and takes 7-8 hours. Pass by Xiaonong Base Camp, where you can take a short break and have lunch (bringing your own snacks is recommended). The most stunning moment is arriving at Ice Lake, which looks like a sapphire embedded at the foot of the snow mountain. Return to Yubeng Upper Village in the afternoon and remember to soak your feet to relieve fatigue.

Day 3:
Today, head to the Sacred Waterfall, a holy place in the hearts of the Tibetans. Starting from Yubeng Lower Village, the round trip is about 8 kilometers and takes 4-5 hours. The mani stone piles and prayer flags along the way are especially magnificent. The Sacred Waterfall never freezes and is said to purify the soul. After lunch, pack up and prepare for the return trip; remember to arrange a car in advance (the guesthouse can help book it).

⚠️ Practical tips:
1. The best seasons are May-June and September-October; winter is too cold with heavy snow.
2. Take altitude sickness seriously; prepare Rhodiola and glucose in advance.
3. Trekking poles, headlamps, sunscreen, and sunglasses are must-haves.
4. The village only accepts cash payments, so bring plenty of cash.
5. If you want to soak in hot springs, bring swimwear; soaking feet at the Sacred Waterfall can relieve fatigue.

Yubeng Village, hidden deep in the snow mountains, is definitely worth crossing mountains and valleys for. Every frame here looks like a postcard, and every breath carries the fresh scent of pine. Be mentally prepared before you come, because you will miss it for a long, long time after you leave...
