Without a doubt, Moganshan is the perfect destination in the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region for fewer crowds and stunning scenery!

Where can you find fewer tourists, breathtaking views, and ultra-photogenic spots?
Moganshan is the answer.

For all the sisters planning a summer trip to Moganshan for hiking, mountain climbing, or leisurely walks👭, this guide will break down how to make the most of your visit. Just follow along and avoid any pitfalls!

My itinerary:
Xuguang Terrace → Chiang Kai-shek's Official Residence → Moganshan Conference Site (Great Church) → Chairman Mao's Lodging

☀️Xuguang Terrace:
Climb to the top of Xuguang Terrace for a 360° panoramic view of the bamboo sea and mountain ranges—perfect for stunning photos that’ll make you look like a pro.
If you’re not into photography, just sit at the high vantage point, gaze into the distance, and let your mind unwind—it’s incredibly soothing.

🏠Chiang Kai-shek's Official Residence
Just 600 meters uphill from Xuguang Terrace, you’ll find Chiang Kai-shek's Official Residence.
Not only is it a standalone villa, but it also boasts a gorgeous "back garden lawn"—absolutely picturesque.

⛪️Moganshan Conference Site (Great Church)
Built entirely with local mountain stone, this structure features towering stone walls and columns atop the peak, resembling a medieval castle. As you ascend the steps, the colorful stained-glass dome and windows will leave you in awe. In 1984, the historic Moganshan Conference was held here, making the Great Church a witness to China’s economic reform.

🏨Chairman Mao's Lodging
Finally, arrive at Chairman Mao’s Lodging, the "Queen’s Hotel"—truly a spectacular sight.
Outside the Seven-Person Room, a vintage car used to pick up Chairman Mao back in the day is on display🚗.

Summer is the ideal time to bring your kids here for a peaceful stroll. Not only will they enjoy the fresh air, but they’ll also get a dose of history!
