✨3-Day 2-Night Hidden Gem Guide to Xinshi, Enjoy Jiangnan for Only 500 RMB Per Person✨
Dear friends, today I’m sharing an amazing 3-day 2-night travel guide to Xinshi Ancient Town, letting you fully immerse yourself in the charm of the Jiangnan water town💕
📍Day 1: Arrive at the ancient town and encounter the romance of the water town
🚗 Transportation: It’s recommended to take the high-speed train to “Deqing Station” or “Huzhou Station,” then take a taxi or bus to the ancient town. If driving, navigate to “Xinshi Ancient Town Visitor Center,” parking is very convenient.
🏨 Accommodation: Highly recommend staying in a waterside guesthouse in the core area of the ancient town, such as Xiyou Yijian Guesthouse or Deqing Beian Theme Hotel. Open the window and you’ll see small bridges and flowing water—super atmospheric.
🌆 Evening stroll: After dropping off your luggage, head to Xihekou, the essence of the ancient town. The Ming and Qing dynasty houses and covered corridors look like a beautiful painting under the sunset. Then walk around ancient stone bridges like Taiping Bridge and Jiaxian Bridge—every snapshot is a masterpiece.
🍽️ Dinner: Taste Xinshi lamb at a riverside eatery. The lamb is crispy but not overcooked, fatty but not greasy. Recommended places are “Zhang Yipin” or local favorite small shops.
📍Day 2: Immersive experience of ancient town life
🍜 Breakfast: Try a piece of Xinshi tea cake, soft, glutinous, salty, and fragrant. “Lin’s” or “Genfang’s” are both great. Pair it with a bowl of dry-pulled noodles or duck minced noodles to start your day full of energy.
Morning: Visit Juehai Temple to feel the tranquility of this thousand-year-old temple. The ancient bridge and ginkgo trees in front of the temple (especially beautiful in autumn) are perfect for photos. Then explore Liu Wang Temple, the Folk Art Museum, and more to learn about the town’s culture. Don’t forget to wander into alleys like Yanzhi Lane and Sianqian Lane to experience the most authentic local life.
🍵 Afternoon: Find an old teahouse by the river, order a cup of Mogan Yellow Bud tea, watch the rowboats slowly glide by, and enjoy a leisurely time. Or go to Penguin Coffee to daydream or read, and while away a Jiangnan afternoon.
🥘 Dinner: Try local specialties like stewed shredded eel and stir-fried shrimp to take your taste buds on a journey.
📍Day 3: Explore the surroundings and return fully satisfied
🚗 If you have time, explore nearby spots. For example, Mogan Mountain, about a 40-minute drive, is a popular summer resort. You can also visit scenic areas like Shangzhu Mountain Fantasy Valley and Xiazhu Lake to experience the beauty of nature.
🍽️ Food check-in before leaving: Try plum blossom cake again, Ling Anniang’s is recommended by CCTV. Also, pure meat shumai and beef noodles—pack the delicious flavors of the ancient town to go.
📸 Photo tips: Wearing Hanfu for photos is amazing and you’ll get stunning shots in no time! The best light in the ancient town is in the early morning and at dusk, don’t miss it~
💡 Pitfall avoidance guide: Some exhibition halls charge separately, confirm opening hours in advance. Weekends and holidays are crowded, so it’s recommended to book accommodation early.
Friends, come to Xinshi Ancient Town and start your own Jiangnan water town journey~
