If you only have one day to visit a small city, Dezhou is a great choice! Dezhou is perfect for a city walk, and all the attractions are free. Route:
Sun Valley Yongqing Temple Huangtang Ramen Dongzi Garden Scenic Area → Dezhou Museum Ancient Canal Scenic Area Xiangsheng Braised Chicken Attractions:
Sun Valley: Free. A place for large local events. Not very busy. There is a World Solar Museum (tickets required). You can take a look if you have time, but it's not a must-see. Yongqing Temple: Free. Open all year round from 8:00 to 17:30. The temple is not small, and there are many fish in the pond. The temple is still under construction, and you can see cranes, but it doesn't affect the experience. Take a walk and purify your soul.
Dongzi Garden Scenic Area: Free. There are many green plants, bridges, rivers, and boats. The scenery is great, but the academy is under construction, and some areas are not accessible. There is a street outside with calligraphy, jade, and treasures.
Dezhou Museum: Free, but you need to make a reservation and scan your ID card to enter. It's quiet inside, and there aren't many people. There are three floors and five or six exhibition halls, including Civilization Relics, Historical Footprints, and City Memories. Great for photos. There is a stamp collection area.
Ancient Canal Scenic Area: Similar to an ancient city street. There are many stalls and barbecue places, but it only gets busy in the evening. It's quiet at noon. There is a wall with a strawberry bear and Dezhou check-in signs. Great for photos!
Jinshan Temple on the Island: Free. A national 4A scenic area. It's far from the city, so it's recommended to visit separately. It's large, and you can buy buns. There are many temples with a lot of incense. It takes half a day to visit.
Food:
Huangtang Ramen: A Dezhou specialty with a unique taste. Different from regular ramen. It doesn't taste strange. I think it's delicious. If you follow my route, I recommend going to: Dezhou District - about 100 meters south of Xinhedong Road Dashenzhuang New Village. It's at the southernmost end of a snack street.
Dezhou Braised Chicken: Highly recommended. I did a lot of research and chose Xiangsheng Braised Chicken. It was the right choice! It's delicious. I bought the sweet and spicy flavor. The shelf life is 2-3 hours for 29 yuan, 1 week for 35 yuan, and longer for a higher price. It's worth it! I love it!
