Dole, a small village in the Jura region of France, is famous for being home to the house where Louis Pasteur once lived.
With a train station providing easy access, itโs simple to visit from Paris.
The village is compact enough to explore entirely on foot, making it perfect for a day trip. Surrounded by other small villages, itโs also an ideal stopover during your travels.
The photo was taken in late May, when lotus flowers were just beginning to bloom. The village is encircled by waterways, and this time of year is considered the most beautiful, with flowers in full bloom.
As itโs not a major tourist destination, the village is pleasantly uncrowded and easy to walk around. Restaurants and hotels are also conveniently located nearby.
