A famous Isaan restaurant in the Don Mueang area, boldly flavorful

Hom Pla Dek is a large Isaan restaurant located in Don Mueang, not far from Amari Don Mueang Hotel and Don Mueang Airport. The restaurant is right by the road, but you can enter the alley and park there. They have plenty of seating and many customers as well. Luckily, when we came, there was a table available. We came as a party of two and ordered several dishes. Just a heads-up, if you can't handle much spice, be sure to specify "mild spicy" because their food is very boldly spicy.
- Grilled pork neck: I really liked it. The pork is tender with marbled fat, and the dipping sauce is delicious. Eating it with sticky rice is pure bliss.
- Papaya salad with crab and fermented fish sauce: very spicy and delicious.
- Duck larb: Personally, I didn’t like it much because it was a bit too crunchy for me. I prefer more meat, but the taste is good.
- Stir-fried water mimosa with squid: delicious but very spicy.
Overall, don’t forget to specify your spice level. The prices are okay. Come and try it here!
