Located in Dongfang City, just navigate to Baicha Village
There will be someone at the village archway to stop you and ask you to park in the parking lot P, parking is free. Then take a sightseeing bus for CNY 15, about 2 km. The ticket is a handwritten note from the staff, a primitive place with a primitive way of buying tickets. Don't throw away the paper, you'll need it to take the bus back.
Now no one lives in the thatched cottages, the villagers have moved to new houses at the entrance of the village. As for the shape of the house, it is said that after the ancestors of the Li people came to Hainan Island, they had no house to live in, so they turned the boat upside down and lived in it, and later people made the house into this shape.
There are 81 thatched cottages here, and an hour is definitely enough to stroll around and take pictures. The photos are very nice, and you feel like you are in a primitive tribe.
