Apart from the blue seas of Sanya, Hainan also boasts a national-level cultural heritage site—Baicha Village in Jiangbian Township, Dongfang City.
The last Li ethnic ancient village, home to the most primitive Li ethnic boat-shaped houses.
Characteristics of the houses:
There are 81 existing boat-shaped houses in Baicha Village.
The origin of the boat-shaped houses is due to the Li ancestors living in overturned wooden boats, hence the name "boat-shaped houses".
The exterior of Baicha Village's boat-shaped houses resembles boat houses, with no windows, doors on both sides, and roofs covered with thick thatch, very low so the houses are not tall.
The length of the thatch almost drags to the ground. There is a 100-year-old cactus here.
Directions: Search for 'Baicha Village Li ethnic boat houses' to navigate.
Admission: Free
Reminder:
Remember to protect against mosquitoes, protect against mosquitoes.
The journey is a mountain road with eighteen bends, and the scenery along the way is very beautiful, very much like circling around Erhai Lake.
This ancient village only has those 81 boat houses,
Personal suggestion! If you like exploring ancient villages, love photography, want to understand a different Hainan culture, and like less-known Hainan attractions, you can come and see.
