InterContinental Dongguan

InterContinental Dongguan
What? Hotels in Dongguan that offer 4K per night? !
There are crowds of people everywhere in Shenzhen on weekends, so I chose Dongguan, the closest city to Shenzhen, to eat roast goose and stay in a hotel over the weekend. The hotel should be in the CBD area of Dongguan
The lobby entrance is a turn away from the main road, with a buffer zone away from the hustle and bustle. It reminds me of the magnificent lobby entrances of Mandarin Oriental in Guangzhou and Hong Kong. It feels like a quiet place in a bustling city! The hotel's bathroom and partition doors use a wood and glass design, which has a Lingnan style and is eye-catching. But other home furnishings are in different styles, with an overall mix-and-match style, and the curtains have a Japanese style. I can't tell which designer did it. It's quite different from the InterContinental style I've stayed in before. The overall decoration is impeccable.
This time I booked an ordinary king-size room, but something went wrong when I checked into the room. The manager upgraded me to an executive suite of 115 square meters. I checked on Ctrip and it should cost more than 4K. The suite has a double bathroom design, a dining area, and a better view. To sum it up in one word: big! !
Advantages: The overall service attitude is very good, on par with the hotel level. The minor incidents that occurred during check-in were resolved quickly and the compensation was sincere enough. Wine and fruit were also sent as an apology. The hotel has a lobby on the first floor, and the elevator goes directly to the room floors (which is great! I’m fed up with the current mainstream sky lobby and the design that requires changing elevators). The amenities used are BYREDO, the suite toilet has a smart toilet (not available in ordinary rooms), and the hair dryer uses Dyson (not available in ordinary rooms). The room is equipped with Bose Bluetooth speakers.
Disadvantages: The bathrobe is a single-layer bathrobe and is not particularly comfortable to wear. The service attitude is very good, but the efficiency is not high. It takes a long time to wait for items over the phone. No turn down service. The fitness center must have been outsourced. When I went to the swimming pool in the afternoon, classes were still going on. There were advertisements introducing coaches at the gym, too.
In conclusion, this should be one of the better hotels in Dongguan. I would give a high evaluation for the overall level of software and hardware. It did not bring shame to IHG! And the raspberry-flavored macarons in the lobby bar downstairs are delicious! Dongguan Hotels
