Dongguan｜Such a beautiful Songshan Lake shouldn't just stay hidden in my photo album.

Songshan Lake is a vast scenic area that combines Dongguan's high-tech industrial park with natural landscapes. It is a 4A-level tourist attraction in Dongguan. 🏰

Each season offers its own unique beauty, making it suitable for visits year-round. (If summer gets too hot, you can explore some indoor attractions.)

The last time I visited Songshan Lake, I was in a rush to meet friends and chat, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the entire area. (But even a glimpse of it was already delightful.)

The main attractions at Songshan Lake include Songhu Misty Rain, Songhu Flower Sea, and Taoyuan Park. You can stroll along the lakeside, go camping 🏕️, rent a bike for cycling, or bring a picnic mat to enjoy a meal under the trees. A whole day might not be enough to take it all in.

There’s also the newly established art district and Huawei Town at Songshan Lake, which I didn’t get a chance to photograph—what a pity.

This time, I didn’t have enough time, but next time, I’d love to try cycling the 30km route. 🙈

Dongguan is vast and rich in resources, so self-driving is recommended.

🚗Self-driving:
Guangshen Expressway - (Shigu Exit) - Dongguan Avenue - Songshan Lake Avenue

During holidays, the crowds can be overwhelming, so it’s highly recommended to visit on weekdays if you have the time. (On holidays, even cars can’t get in. 🙈😅)

There are also direct bus routes from Dongguan city:

🚌Bus: Dalingshan Route 12, Songshan Lake Route 2, Songshan Lake Route 4a, Songshan Lake Route 4, Songshan Lake Route 6 to "Songhu Garden" station.

🚄High-speed Rail:
If departing from Hong Kong 🇭🇰, you can take the high-speed rail from West Kowloon Station to "Dongguan South Station" or "Dongguan Station." Then take a taxi to "Songshan Lake Scenic Area." Note that high-speed rail services to "Dongguan Station" are less frequent.

🚌Cross-border Bus:
Hong Kong boarding points: Tsim Sha Tsui, Prince Edward, Kwun Tong, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Sheung Wan, Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, etc.

Dongguan drop-off points: Chang'an Haiyue Garden Hotel, Houjie Jia Hua Grand Hotel, Dongcheng International Hotel, etc.

You can choose a bus to Dongguan’s eastern district and then call a car to reach the various attractions.
