Best birdwatching spots at Taihu Lake revealed
🦢 Autumn at Taihu Lake is a love letter from migratory birds to the sky|The ultimate niche birdwatching spot!

Who says autumn is only for watching red leaves? This year I discovered a super healing way to enjoy it—go to **the shores of Taihu Lake to watch migratory birds dance**!✨

📍 Hidden birdwatching spot:
**Dongshan, Suzhou · Beilamei Garden Wetland Shoreline**
(Huanhu Road, Dongshan Town, Wuzhong District, Suzhou City; navigate to "Beilamei Garden Parking Lot")
This place has few people and beautiful scenery, with a wide lake surface. It’s one of the best secret birdwatching spots along Taihu Lake!🌿

🚗 Transportation tips:
Driving is the most convenient, about 1 hour from downtown Suzhou
You can also take bus No. 502 and get off at "Beilamei Garden" stop

🕰 Best time:
Every year from October to March (migratory bird season)
Daily 6:30-8:30 / 16:00-17:30

🦅 Common birds:
- Whooper swan (most visits in November every year)
- Cormorant (often flying in V formations)
- Egret (elegantly standing on the shallows)
- Spoon-billed sandpiper (super cute long-billed bird)
- Bean goose (beautifully circling in the sky)

📸 Birdwatching gear guide:
✓ Binoculars are a must! 8x-10x is best
✓ Telephoto camera (recommended 200mm or above)
✓ Dark-colored windproof jacket (avoid bright colors)
✓ Thermos (who doesn’t love a warm drink)
✓ Small stool (to free your legs while waiting)

💡 Practical tips:
- Remember to spray mosquito repellent (wetlands have quite a few mosquitoes)
- Bring sunscreen (UV rays by the lake are strong)
- Keep quiet (you can hear the birdsong)
- Do not feed the birds (protecting the ecosystem is most important)

🚴♀️ Nearby activities:
Recommend renting a bike to ride around the lake🚲
Route: Beilamei Garden → Fengqi Bridge → Linghuzhu
Golden rice fields and reed marshes along the way are great for photos!

The scenery here speaks:
In the morning mist, swans flap their wings and fly by,
At sunset, cormorants form a V shape returning to their nests...
Every moment is a poem of nature💫
