The Ancient Weir of Millennia, The Charming Guanxian

Guanxian, known today as Dujiangyan City, derives its name from the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Dujiangyan Irrigation System. Its history stretches back to the era of Yu the Great of the Xia Dynasty. Nestled in the northwest of the Chengdu Plain, it is an internationally renowned tourist city, home to two major attractions: Mount Qingcheng and the Dujiangyan system itself.

Within the ancient town of Guanxian, well-preserved Ming and Qing-era architecture—such as the "painted pavilion over the water" of the South Bridge and the historic streets and lanes—exudes rich cultural heritage and vibrant local life. More than just a repository of historical relics, it is an ideal destination to explore the culture of Western Sichuan and its stunning natural scenery.
