Shengsi Main Island | Who says there’s no blue sea in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai?

I had already prepared myself mentally before going, having heard that Shengsi is all about yellow muddy water. I kept reassuring myself that I just wanted to find a small island to lie down, enjoy the breeze, and ride a bike, without having too high expectations. Seeing the yellowish seawater at the dock actually made me feel a bit relieved, as if all my last bits of hope were gone 😅
But Shengsi saved the biggest surprise for after landing on the island. 🌊 Isn’t this Pingtan?❗️ It looks exactly the same.
During the National Day holiday, there were very few people on the small island. The whole island is quite small; riding a small electric scooter along the left coast road, stopping here and there to play at the free beach, three hours is more than enough. The sea was calm, blue sky and white clouds, wading in the water and catching crabs, slowly and leisurely—this is the slow island life I imagined 🥰
