Traveling from London to Edinburgh by Night Bus
Being a student, I left London late at night and took an eight-hour overnight bus (Flix Bus). The fare was only about ¥5,000! Compared to flights and trains, it's a popular mode of transportation for students and backpackers. The great thing about night buses is that they double as lodging. Waking up in Edinburgh after a night's sleep was efficient and recommended for those with plenty of energy.
I arrived in the morning. The city was still quiet, and the morning sun shining on the cobblestone streets was truly magical.
Starting my city tour!
First, I visited Edinburgh Castle, a symbol of Edinburgh. Towering atop a small hill, the castle is imposing and can be seen from anywhere in the city. Inside, I was able to see the Scottish Crown Jewels, the Mons Meg cannon, and numerous historical exhibits.
Afterwards, I strolled along the Royal Mile, the main street leading from the castle. Lined on both sides with cafes, souvenir shops, and historic buildings, it's a fun street to walk along. The sound of bagpipes echoed through the air, giving us a truly Scottish atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we took a short walk to Holyrood Park. Climbing Arthur's Seat, a small hill, offered a panoramic view of Edinburgh's cityscape and the sea, and the breeze was very pleasant. The view, where historic buildings and nature blend together, truly captured the charm of this city. #LetsTravelWithPochiKatsu #Edinburgh
