El Nido is a tropical escape that goes beyond the usual beach vacation. Jagged limestone cliffs rise out of turquoise waters, hiding secret lagoons, white-sand beaches, and coral reefs full of life. I joined an island-hopping tour that took me snorkeling in hidden coves, kayaking in Big Lagoon, and swimming in crystal-clear shallows. Even the town has a laid-back charm, with beachfront bars and friendly locals. The sunsets here are legendary—golden skies turning into deep purple over silhouettes of distant islands. It’s paradise, plain and simple.
