Preparation
• Clothing: Bring a thick down jacket, waterproof and non-slip snow boots, warm gloves, scarf, hat, etc. It is cold on the mountain, so keep warm in all directions.
• Equipment: Prepare trekking poles to help you climb the mountain; if you want to enjoy the snow and take photos, you can bring a camera (keep it warm), and keep your phone fully charged.
• Others: Buy tickets for the scenic area and sightseeing bus in advance. Supplies on the mountain are expensive, so you can bring some high-calorie snacks and hot water.
Itinerary
• Day 1: Depart from Baoguo Temple and take a sightseeing bus to Leidongping. Enjoy the winter snow scenery of Mount Emei along the way. After arriving at Leidongping, stroll along the snow path and check in the surrounding snow scenery. You can also see squirrels and other small animals. Then walk to Jieyin Hall, and you can choose to take a cable car or hike up to the Golden Summit. The magnificent snow scenery and golden Buddha on the Golden Summit are beautiful against the white snow. Stay at the Golden Summit in the evening and watch the sunset glow on the snow-capped mountains.
• Day 2: Get up early to watch the sunrise and the sea of clouds on the Golden Summit, and then go down the mountain. You can hike to the Elephant Bathing Pool to enjoy the snow scenery of the ancient temple, and then take a car to Wannian Temple, where there are thousand-year-old temples and quiet snow scenery. After that, hike from Wannian Temple to Qingyin Pavilion, where the snow scenery is quiet and the stream is gurgling. Finally, go down the mountain from Qingyin Pavilion.
Food recommendations
• Snow konjac stewed duck: A specialty of Mount Emei, snow konjac absorbs the aroma of duck meat and has a unique taste.
• Ebian Tuotuo meat: The meat is fresh and tender, fat but not greasy, and replenishes energy in cold weather.
• Radish soup: Sweet and delicious, warm the body and heart, common in mountain restaurants.
Precautions
• The mountain roads are covered with snow and ice in winter, so be careful when walking and follow the signs in the scenic area.
• High-altitude areas may have altitude sickness, so pay attention to rest, avoid strenuous exercise, and seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited in the scenic area to protect the ecological environment.
