Known as "Iceland in Miniature," the Snæfellsnes Peninsula boasts a stunning coastal landscape that blends volcanoes, glaciers, and the ocean. A recommended three-hour drive from Reykjavík is recommended. Must-see attractions include Ytri-Tunga Seal Beach, the best seal-spotting spot in West Iceland. In summer, seals laze on the rocks, creating a soothing sight. The coastal path in the fishing village of Arnarstapi connects lava fields with sea caves spanned by stone bridges. The majestic sight of waves crashing against the cliffs, combined with the tundra vegetation, evokes a sense of Norse mythology. The towering sea stacks of Lundlánkjær Cliffs, nesting here in summer, offer a chance to photograph the flocks and unique rock spires. If you have more time, visit Djúpalónssandur Black Beach, where the volcanic, glassy black sand and giant basalt columns create a desolate spectacle, enhanced by the presence of historic shipwrecks. Winds can be strong at the coast, so wear a windproof jacket. Please observe environmental regulations and drones are prohibited.
