Mount Nebo, A Holy Site in Jordan

This site is believed to be the burial site of Moses according to some traditions. A small monastery was built here in the 4th century in memory of Moses, which now is known as Memorial Church of Moses.

An Italian artist Gian Paolo Fantoni created the magnificent Serpentine Cross. It is symbolic of the serpent invoked by Moses in the desert and the cross upon which Jesus was crucified.

Here, there is also a small museum showing the history of the site.
