Qiliang Cave in Fenghuang City

On October 8th, we took a taxi from the old town to the cave, which cost 12-15 yuan. At the entrance of the cave, there is an 'Ancient Battlefield and Cannon Tower.' It is said that during the late Southern Song Dynasty, the Miao people fought against the government and used the cave as their hideout. However, due to being outnumbered and betrayed by a spy, the rebellion army was defeated. Additionally, the Miao people stored wine in the cave, which has been preserved under glass for over 130 years.

The entrance ticket costs 98 yuan for adults and 40 yuan for children. Local residents can purchase discounted tickets for 90 yuan (we bought ours at the ticket office). There is no need to wait for a group, and I didn’t see any guides inside the cave. The main hall is very stuffy due to poor ventilation, and my daughter felt unwell with a racing heartbeat. As you go deeper into the cave, the air becomes cooler and more breathable. I highly recommend visiting this site. I have never seen such enormous caves before, and I was overwhelmed with awe. A tip: watch your step as stalactites grow in the middle of the path, and be cautious of anything that might fall from above. Wearing a cap is advisable. Since it’s stuffy inside, dress lightly and wear comfortable, non-slip shoes.

Next to the cave, there is a children’s area with slides and a zoo. The zoo features animals such as capybaras, squirrels, black swans (which are friendly), deer, pigs, ducks, and meerkats. The animals here are quite hungry and can be fed for an additional fee.
