Family Trip to the Three Gorges｜3 Days 2 Nights by Public Boat, Take the Kids on the Poet Li Bai’s Route!

Traveling the Three Gorges with kids can be poetic and budget-friendly, just like Li Bai taking a public boat!

Many friends asked about family details after the previous Three Gorges vlog, so today I’ve reorganized the guide for parents to copy directly～

📍Route: Chongqing → Fengjie → Qutang Gorge → Wushan → Wu Gorge → Badong → Xiling Gorge → Three Gorges Dam → Yichang, 3 days 2 nights

🚂Day 1: Chongqing — Fengjie

High-speed train from Chongqing North → Fengjie (2 hours), best to arrive before 11 AM

✅Family activities:

🔸Baidi City: The Orphanage Hall tells Three Kingdoms stories｜Find the “Kuimen” on the 10 yuan bill｜See the picturesque river between two mountains

🔸Summit of the Three Gorges: Take the kids to the top to overlook Qutang Gorge, an 8 km canyon that’s breathtaking!

It’s recommended to take a taxi to the Summit of the Three Gorges after Baidi City; hiking takes a long time, so don’t try it with small kids

🚤Little Red Boat Pier: Search directly for “Fengjie Little Red Boat Pier”

🏠Accommodation: Riverside homestay with views of Kuimen, or choose a chain hotel for more convenience

🛥️Day 2: Fengjie — Wushan

Yangtze River Little Red Boat (Fengjie → Wushan｜40 RMB/person)

Schedule: 8:00 / 13:20, buy tickets on board, go early to grab window seats!

Features: 360° deck views of the river｜Stops at wild piers, very interesting｜Watch the captain use binoculars to “pick up passengers”

⛰️Little Three Gorges: The Little Red Boat arrives in Wushan at 11:30, catch the 14:00 Little Three Gorges cruise

🐟Food: Wushan paper-wrapped fish is super tasty!

🛌Accommodation: Stay near the pier to avoid rushing for the 7 AM boat the next day

🚢Day 3: Wushan — Yichang, passing through Wu Gorge + Xiling Gorge

Gao Gorge Pinghu No.5, 299 RMB/person, usually departs at 7:00 AM every other day (6 hours to Yichang)

💳Booking: Search “Gao Gorge Pinghu No.5” to book in advance, sometimes cheaper offline

🏞️Three Gorges Dam: The boat stops at Taipingxi Pier, 10 minutes by taxi to the visitor center, then directly to Yichang after the visit
