Finished the AIDA course in three days and dove down to 10 meters in the Maldives as a newbie!

Hello, I’m Serena from Roaming the World.
I stayed at four hotels in the Maldives for half a month,
and here’s the hard-earned experience I want to share👇
Choosing the right island and hotel is crucial if you want to see “Finding Nemo” underwater!
The Maldives W Hotel truly left a lasting impression on me!

🦈 Following a PADI instructor out to sea, I freedived into a nurse shark group,
saw whale sharks, mantas...
It felt like being in a BBC documentary, every frame worth a fortune✨

As a “newbie” just starting pool training,
I sincerely recommend everyone to practice in the ocean,
because the whole experience is completely different.
👉 Breathing techniques, duck dive, ear pressure control...
In the glowing blue Maldives seawater,
every practice felt like a meditation session🧘
Key point❗️The instructor was patient and professional,
and even took insanely beautiful photos of me underwater!
They captured my breath-holding expressions looking like a sea siren haunting the waters.
I truly appreciate this romance and dedication!

The newly renovated water villa is not only super photogenic,
but right beneath your feet is a coral reef paradise🪸
Colorful little fish come to check in every day🐠

🌙 At night, you must go to the Fish restaurant for daily fresh catch🎣
Sardine storms and lone fish lying on the plate😂
I recommend choosing a seat by the jetty,
where a group of baby sharks swim around you,
so adorable!

📸 Little tips:
▫️ Book your freediving course in advance
▫️ The W Hotel has its own PADI dive shop covering freediving, snorkeling, and scuba diving
▫️ The marine life is so abundant it’s hard to want to get back on land...

If you want to hear the sounds of the ocean,
make eye contact with a whale shark, and achieve your own freediving goals,
this place will truly be one of the most beautiful starting points in your life🌊
