Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary – Brisbane, QLD

Lone Pine was such a wholesome and relaxing place to visit. I actually got to hold a koala—bucket list moment achieved! I also hand-fed kangaroos in the big open paddock and saw platypuses swimming in their enclosure. The whole place feels very natural and laid back, with beautiful river views. It’s much more intimate than a zoo, and the keepers were really passionate and knowledgeable. A perfect half-day trip from Brisbane and very family-friendly.
