Chunhui Garden, one of the four famous gardens in Guangdong

Qinghui Garden is a famous scenic spot in Foshan and one of the four famous gardens in Guangdong. It is worth visiting.

The hotel is about five minutes' walk from Chunhui Garden. After eating double skin milk, fried milk, and buffalo milk, I bought fish food, scanned the code to buy a ticket, and entered the park.

Qinghui Garden was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty and is a representative of Lingnan gardens. In fact, the original site of Chunhui Garden was a private garden. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Huang Shijun, a native of Shunde, won the top spot in the imperial examination and served as Minister of Rites and Grand Secretary. In order to bring honor to his ancestors, he built a garden at this address. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the Huang family declined and the courtyard became deserted. Later, the local Long family built a garden here and named it "Chunhui Garden" to symbolize that the kindness of parents is like the warm sunshine.

Chunhui Garden is not very big and can be visited in about 2 hours. The main buildings include Chengyi Pavilion, Hexagonal Pavilion, and Bixi Thatched Cottage. The central hall houses Xiyin Study, Lion Rock and other garden buildings. It is the tourist area with the most concentrated scenery in the garden. The North Garden is represented by the Bamboo Garden, which has densely packed houses and is where the garden owners live.

The garden is mostly surrounded by water pavilions, rockery, flowing water, and schools of koi. There are stepping stones on the water surface under the rockery, and tourists can pass through the small caves; there are ancient trees, such as a longan tree whose trunk has been hollowed out into a thin side, which has been recorded for 210 years; there is a display of ancient candidates taking examinations in the Imperial College, where candidates had to write essays in a small compartment that was only one meter wide, and eat, drink and sleep in this small space; for high school students, there would be lavish celebrations, such as the No. 1 Scholar Banquet, where all kinds of delicacies were marked with the word "No. 1 Scholar".
