Founded in the first year of the Song Dynasty's Kaibao era (968), the village is crossed by the Gaoqing Provincial Highway, 13 kilometers from the Shanghai-Kunming Expressway (Gan-Yue Expressway), 28 kilometers from downtown Gao'an, and 80 kilometers from the provincial capital, Nanchang. The Zhangjian branch of the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway is located within the village, with Xietang and Zhushan railway stations to the east and west, each 3 kilometers away.

Nestled between mountains and water, Jiajia Ancient Village faces south. From a vantage point, one can admire the picturesque scenery of interconnected houses, vast expanses of fertile fields, and crisscrossing paths. The village is crisscrossed with ancient alleyways, paved with blue bricks and granite. Deep ruts bear witness to Jiajia Village's rich history. The village's drainage system is scientific and well-established, and continues to function today. Twelve ponds are scattered throughout the village, storing rainwater and discharging silt.
